Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of BollyTube software applications and related websites operated by Charana Studios (“BollyTube”, “we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. The Services
BollyTube provides music discovery, browsing, library, recommendation, and playback experiences across Android phone, Android TV, Wear OS, Android Auto, and Android Automotive. Features may differ by device and OS version.
BollyTube helps you find and play music content that is hosted by third parties (primarily YouTube). We are not a record label and do not claim ownership of third-party music videos or sound recordings.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable law. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, you may use the Services only with parent/guardian involvement where required. The Services are not directed to children under 13.
3. Accounts
- Some features (for example cloud sync of favorites, playlists, followed artists, and cross-device library state) require signing in with Google via Firebase Authentication.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your Google account secure.
- You must provide accurate information and may not impersonate others or abuse account systems.
4. License to use BollyTube
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use BollyTube apps on devices you own or control for personal, non-commercial entertainment use.
You may not reverse engineer, redistribute, resell, scrape at abusive scale, interfere with service integrity, or bypass technical limitations except where applicable law forbids such restriction.
5. Third-party content and YouTube
- Music videos and streams are provided by third parties. Availability can change, region-restrict, or fail without notice.
- Your use of YouTube content is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and related Google policies.
- Advertisements, restrictions (for example playback while locked, offline limits), and quality options may be controlled by YouTube or device policy, not solely by BollyTube.
- BollyTube may display metadata, thumbnails, and artist images for discovery UX. Artist cover images may be hosted on our website for app performance; rights remain with respective rights holders where applicable.
Independence & trademarks. BollyTube is an independent music discovery app. Names of charts or playlists that reference other services describe curated discovery content only and do not imply any affiliation with Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Billboard, or other third parties.
6. User library and acceptable use
You may create favorites, playlists, and similar library items for personal use. You agree not to use the Services to:
- Infringe copyrights, trademarks, or other rights
- Distribute malware, spam, or harmful content
- Harass others or violate law
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data
- Use automated bulk extraction that degrades service quality
7. Recommendations and curated catalogs
Charts, featured playlists, genres, and recommendations are provided for discovery convenience. Rankings and suggestions are generated or curated programmatically and may be imperfect, incomplete, or delayed. We do not guarantee fitness for a particular taste or commercial purpose.
Labels that mention other services (for example style references inspired by popular charts) identify the type of discovery collection only. They are not official charts or licensed products of those services.
8. Multi-device features
Wear companion control, Android Auto, TV browse trees, and related media session features depend on device permissions, OEM support, and Google platform services. We do not guarantee every feature on every device.
9. Intellectual property
BollyTube branding, app UI, logos, and original site content are owned by Charana Studios or its licensors. Third-party marks (Google Play, YouTube, Android, etc.) belong to their owners.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION, OR THAT CONTENT WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHARANA STUDIOS AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify Charana Studios against claims arising from your misuse of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of third-party rights, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the Services or other users, or if we discontinue the product. You may stop using the Services at any time by uninstalling the apps.
14. Changes
We may modify the Services and these Terms. Material updates will be indicated by changing the “Last updated” date and, when appropriate, by in-app or website notice. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Charana Studios primarily operates its consumer apps business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country require otherwise.
